My name is Alyssa Gimenez and I am a fourth-year, graduating senior at Cal State Long Beach. I am planning to pursue a career in scientific research and academia. My career interests focus on bridging the disciplines of public and global health epidemiology with the traditional benchwork of laboratory science to advance the fields of emerging and tropical infectious disease through zoonotic vectors, focusing primarily on how these factors affect low socioeconomic and elderly populations in South East Asia.

My major is in Community Health Sciences and my minor is in Gerontology. Recently, I have been accepted to the San Francisco State University MS Program in Cell and Molecular Biology for Fall 2020.
